Nemo Equipment Inc. recently unveiled its new ultralight tent designed to work with a single trekking pole.

The Spike Storm Trekking Pole Tent weighs one pound, seven ounces packed in its stuff sack and is designed to keep the rain off, whether it's pouring down from above or seeping in from underneath.

"Designed with guidance and testing from professional hunters and anglers, the Spike Storm is a truly minimalist shelter that will get you further off the beaten path," Nemo said on its website. "Its trekking pole-supported design is meant to shed every ounce possible, and resulting in a shelter that is just over a pound and packs incredibly small."

It features Silicone-treated 30D Nylon rip-stop fabric in the canopy and floor for increased strength, durability, and waterproofing, according to product information.

"Unlike the original Spike floorless minimalist shelter, the Spike Storm has an added floor and mesh door for use with any bag and added protection from insects," Nemo said.

The Spike Storm has a reinforced pole pocket with attached pole sleeve to house the trekking pole handle. It also features reinforced hoops that keep the upper vent open all the time, allowing low-to-high ventilation.

The shelter has a peak height of 42.2 inches and a floor that measures 87 inches long and 39 inches wide. It packs down to nine inches by five inches in diameter.

The Spike Storm comes with stakes, guy-out cord and draw-string stuff sack. It comes in Stalker gray and retails for $230.
