Nordic Components now makes a new modular handguard system for short-barreled, AR-15s that allows shooters to extend the length of their handguard when using a suppressor.
The NCT4 Suppressor Shield Modular Handguard is designed to slide over your suppressor and locks into place. It comes in two lengths, with either a 6.7-inch or 9.5-inch handguard to give maximum coverage on 7.5-inch or 10.5/11.5-inch barrels, and includes a removable shield to provide over 6 inches of suppressor coverage, according to a recent Nordic Components press release.

Both sections are fully M-LOK compatible and feature a seamless continuous top rail. The suppressor shield is fully toolless, requiring only the push of a button to unlock the shield. With an inside diameter of 1.850 inches, the NCT4 is spacious enough to accommodate nearly any suppressor, according to Nordic Components.
“Fully compatible with standard AR15-pattern upper receivers and able to accommodate most suppressors, the NCT4 is the ultimate in protection, modularity, and mission-specificity for the suppressed short-barreled AR rifle,” according to Nordic Components.
The NCT4 modular handguard includes a custom 3.8-inch M-LOK rail to span between handguard and suppressor shield.
The NCT4 is scheduled to be available this summer for $350.
