CRKT's Field-Strippable Folding Blade

Columbia River Knife and Tool's Homefront flipper knife has a cool little feature for those who aren't afraid to get their knives filthy dirty.

"The Homefront flipper is the first in the CRKT fleet to feature the patent pending "Field Strip" technology," according to Knifecenter.com. "This in-field, no-tool take apart capability lets you purge your most reliable companion of a hard day's grime right where you are, without ever returning to your workbench."

The breakthrough "Field Strip" innovation comes from knife craftsman Ken Onion and has been over ten years in the making.

To disassemble the Homefront, when the knife is in the closed position, push the front release lever away from the blade, then spin the turn release wheel on the rear of the handle away from the pivot shaft—once you feel the handle release, pull it up and away from the blade. Reassembly is as easy as reversing the procedure, allowing for practical, quick maintenance where you stand, according to Knifecenter.com.

The handles are made from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum and house an a beefy, 3.5 inch AUS-8 stainless steel blade.

The Homefront retails normally for $150, but it's priced at $99.95 at Knifecenter.com.
