We probably won't see Leonardo DiCaprio leaving the scene with 20 models in tow. Or Charlie Sheen. Or any of the other Hollywood notables with an affinity for the nightlife.

Still, we're pretty excited to check out the first-ever VIP room at this year's SHOT Show in Las Vegas. That's what we're calling it anyway. Technically, it's known as the SHOT Showcase Theater.

Borrowing a page from their counterparts at the New York International Auto Show, event organizers are inviting reporters, photographers and other members of the media -- as well as VIP buyers -- to a 742-seat presentation center to see some of the hottest new products.

No word yet on what kinds of guns or gadgets will be featured at the theater on Jan. 20, the first day of the four-day trade show at the Sands Expo Center.

But presenting manufacturers include Nikon, which makes rifle scopes; XS Sight Systems; maker of handgun sights; Faxon Firearms, which makes upper receivers for AR-15 assault rifles; and Leupold & Stevens, maker of optics systems, according to an e-mail from the organizers.

The Outdoor Channel also plans to screen a documentary called "Safe Haven," about the history of gun-free zones in the U.S.

Still, it would be nice to have at least one celebrity sighting, especially after Jay Leno canceled his performance planned for the show.
