As you may recall, the point of this is to make the Kit Up readership aware of small but high quality businesses that are worthy of its business on Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. TAREINCO fits the intended 'definition' of both those days.
TAREINCO (Tandem Research and Innovations Company) is run by Mark Basa, who is currently training to be a paramedic. Mark is an avid outdoorsman (backpacking, hiking, etc.) who started making gear after working extensively on his and others' packs and outdoor kit that needed repaired or improved. He originally started his business intending to focus on outdoor gear but with his contacts and all the operational guys in the area he wound up doing mostly 'tactical' related stuff by dint of guys asking him for help with their kit (or for particular items). Now he does mostly tactical stuff by default (though obviously a lot of it is more than suitable for outdoorsmen). They also sub-contract the build of some pieces of kit for other companies who are looking for a quality USA based manufacturer.

Mark runs TAREINCO with his fiancee. Right now they're running the whole business out of the house, though they are working to establish a full-time brick and mortar store sometime next year. A very large retailer recently picked up TAREINCO gear to carry in-house, so hopefully that will give them the push they need (speaking of which, congrats guys). Right now they sell strictly on-line, though you won’t find them at gunshows and the like because in Mark's words, "Most of the stuff you see at gunshows is Chinese-made crap...we don't want anything to do with them.."
Note that while this company in April last year working strictly on soft goods (nylon), they are now also developing hard goods as accessories for weapons sold by local companies. Some will be cobranded, some are will outsourced to other manufacturers, but the design will be TAREINCO. Kit Up! will keep you advised of those developments.

If you haven't heard of them, check them out. They’ve actually bee gaining such popularity that they’ve had to stop manufacturing new pieces of kit, and to pull some items off the website temporarily in order to keep up with demand. That's not a Bad Thing at all for a new company. Small Business Saturday criterion: 1) Gear manufactured, training provided or equipment sold should be of interest to the military/LEO/armed citizen/contractor demographic; 2) The business should be owned, operated or recommended by military/LEO/armed citizen/contractors I know or have a good rapport with; 3) The business should be the 'tactical equivalent of a ma and pa' type store if possible.
