IMINT: Brit Gun Bunnies Hanging 81mm Mortar Rounds

I've got a question for the man panel here at Kit Up!  American 11C (Mortar Maggots) fire the 81mm mortar, but we use a BAD, or Blast Attenuation Device, which is attached to the muzzle of the tube.  The BAD is basically a metal cone that helps deflect the blast of the round up and out, sparing the mortar crew some of the flash and overpressure.  On the other hand, our British counterparts never seem to have the BAD on their tubes.  Does anyone know why?  This isn't a trick question or anything, I'm really curious to find out why!
