Dakota Meyer - Marine MoH Recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer drops lawsuit against BAE Systems - DoD Photo

Here’s a quick follow up about the Sgt. Dakota Meyer lawsuit against BAE Systems. Both sides have settled and Sgt. Meyer has dropped the suits against both BAE and his former supervisor.  I’m glad they decided to take care of this before it went to litigation … which is never easy for either side involved.

Sgt. Meyer released a statement about the situation and I think the best part is where he states “I am gratified to learn that BAE Systems OASYS did not ultimately sell and does not intend to sell advanced thermal scopes to Pakistan.” So whether the deal was never going to go through, or BAE decided to kill the sale in the wake of the negative PR, all in all it’s a win. Hopefully BAE Systems will remember this the next time they’re looking at making an irresponsible business deal that could negatively affect the safety of our troops.

Here’s a link to statements from both BAE Systems and Sgt. Meyer on SoldierSystems.net.
