The Gear Bag that Turns Into Body Armor

Throw on your vest, clip on your Kevlar and shoulder your CamelBak or assault pack and head out on patrol.

Or, unzip your duffel, throw on your armor and go.

That's what Rogue Warrior Brand (yep, the company backed by Dick Marcinko himself) was thinking when they developed the Duffel Vest Conversion Bag, or DVCB. The ingenious piece of gear literally converts from a duffel bag to (at least in this model) a Level II vest with a load carrier built into the back and a zipper pouch on the front that holds a pistol or other "hidden" gear.

There's little detail offered on the Rogue Warrior site (none, really) but our friends at Tactical-Life have a write up on it. (with pics)

One can carry this gym like a duffel bag and in less than 10 seconds, unzip, pull out the interior (In this case, Level II ballistic vest) and their ready to rock-n-roll. Cool LED lights are stitched into each shoulder so in a low light situation the operator just slaps their shoulder and it turns on pointing in the direction of the extended arm holding a gun.

An additional hidden front pouch is large enough to house a full size sidearm two clips and small first aid kit. The duffel bag can either be used as a backpack to carry additional items or it can be compressed and zipped closed.

This is ingenious and if it can be turned into a Level IV with plates thrown in, who knows where you could go with it. I'll keep an eye on this and see if I can get my hands on one.
