Weekend wrap: Expeditionary links

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

Another week is in the books. Here are some links to things we didn't get to over the past five days:

• The cruiser USS Bunker Hill and international warships responded to a pirate attack this week in the Gulf of Aden.

• Defense Secretary Gates said Friday on a visit to Seymour Johnson AFB, S.C., that the death of Osama bin Laden could be "a game changer" in the war on al Qaeda.

• We don't know exactly what kind of mystery helicopter crashed at bin Laden's compound in Pakistan, but we know that it crashed because of an "air vortex," reports Bloomberg's Tony Capaccio.

• Everybody knows that soldiers and Marines don't always get along, but did you realize this week that the Marines invaded Fort Bragg?
