So, we've all been wondering when flight ops will begin aboard China's ew aircraft carrier, the ex-Soviet Varyag, and when I first say this picture I thought we were about to see Chinese-made Sukhoi Su-33 vaulting off the ship's ski ramp. But alas, this picture apparently shows a mock up of a Su-33 (or possibly the Chinese version of the Flanker, called the J-11). The picture below the jump shows the fake fighter and what's probably a dummy Z-8 chopper sitting toward the ship's bow.
Such a let-down on this rainy East Coast morning. Sigh.
