Here are some quick links for your Memorial Day weekend, hope you're enjoying yourselves.

First up, Abu Muqawama over at the Center for a New American Security gets it right this weekend with this post.

Then there's this great piece in the New York Times on the history behind Memorial Day.

Meanwhile, Steve Trimble over at The DEW Line gives us a sampling of legendary aviation historian Walter Boyne's new book on the state of the American military helicopter industry. Despite the fact that we've managed to field a few bolt-on stealth kits Boyne isn't too happy with the lack of serious innovation in the field.

And finally, there's the big cyber attacks that F-22 and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter-maker Lockheed Martin says it repelled last week. It'll be interesting to see the fallout from this incident as the details emerge. Speculation has already begun that the attacks may be the work of state-backed hackers.
