COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Fort Carson officials say a soldier died at a hospital after collapsing during routine physical fitness training.
The soldier, whose name has not been released, collapsed Monday morning and died about an hour later at a hospital in Colorado Springs. The cause of death was not immediately known.
The Gazette reports mandatory physical training is a daily routine at the post, which is home to about 24,500 soldiers. Soldiers face annual tests to measure their physical fitness and get regular checks from Army doctors.
No other information about Monday's death was released.
