Beale Airman Arrested in Child Sex Sting

A Beale Air Force Base airman was arrested Monday in a Sutter County District Attorney's child sex sting operation.

Brandon Parsall Grigger, 25, of Marysville was arrested on base at 4:45 p.m. on suspicion of arranging a meeting with a minor for the purpose of lewd and lascivious acts. He was booked into Sutter County Jail Monday night and is no longer in custody.

"He replied to an online (advertisement), looking to have sex with a 13-year-old boy," Chief Investigator Jason Parker said Tuesday.

District Attorney Amanda Hopper launched the sting operation earlier this year with area law enforcement agencies and the nonprofit anti-human trafficking organization, Operation Underground Railroad.

The ongoing sting has so far resulted in criminal charges against five men who allegedly showed up at a meeting where they presumably planned to have sex with children.

"This one played out a little different," Parker said.

Grigger is accused of arranging a meeting, but he was arrested before he had a chance to go to the meeting.

In this case, the district attorney's office worked with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and made the arrest after the airman's identify was confirmed.

A Yuba City planning commissioner was arrested during a similar sting weeks ago. Criminal charges have not been filed in that case, but are expected to be filed as soon as next week.
