CAPE MAY, N.J. -- Christmas arrived early at the Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May.

Trees for Troops on Friday delivered 50 Christmas trees to the installation.

The trees were distributed to junior-ranking members on the base.

Commanding officer Capt. Todd Prestidge says a lot of young men and women deployed in the Coast Guard may not be home with their families for Christmas for the first time.

Trees for Troops plans to deliver more than 17,000 Christmas trees to military bases in the U.S. and overseas.
