Follow-up Test Results Show Negative for Coliform

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Follow-up test samples of Ellsworth's water distribution system have tested negative for total coliform, fecal coliform and E. Coli Oct. 8 at approximately 11 a.m.

During routine water sampling, Ellsworth exceeded standard coliform levels with two samples from different locations on base testing positive for total coliform on Oct. 6. Upon receiving the test results, the 28th Medical Operations Squadron Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight immediately conducted follow-up tests Oct. 7, which all came back negative today after the 24-hour testing period.

Base officials are in the process of informing all base personnel, residents of Antelope Ridge, the Box Elder U.S. Post Office and the faculty and students of Vandenberg Elementary School.
