Corpsman Admits to Making Child Porn

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -- A Navy Corpsman admitted at court martial to sexually assaulting three children, including molesting a young girl while being filmed by his wife, authorities said Wednesday.

Joshua Anderson, who was stationed at Navy Hospital at the time, pleaded guilty during court martial proceedings aboard Camp Lejeune last week to charges of sexual assault, inappropriate sexual conduct with three female victims under age 16 and possession of child pornography.

Anderson was sentenced to 30 years confinement, a reduction to E-1, total forfeitures of all pay and a dishonorable discharge, said Nat Fahy, director of public affairs for Marine Corps Installations East.

"The Commanding General will take final action on the subject sentence as the record of trial is completed and any clemency matters are submitted and appropriately considered," Fahy said.

Anderson's wife, Laura Elizabeth Anderson, pleaded guilty earlier this year in Onslow County Superior Court to first-degree sexual offense and was sentenced to 18 to 22 years in prison.

She admitted in court to giving a 5-year-old girl sleeping pills then filming her while she was sexually abused, said Assistant District Attorney Mike Maultsby, who prosecuted the case.

The couple were arrested during a joint operation by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office and Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Joe Kennedy, special agent in charge of NCIS Carolinas Field Office, said much of the credit for the case goes to the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.

"They did a lot of work on this," he said. "This is a good example of cooperation between local and federal law enforcement."
