Whether using the GPS, calling people on your cell phone, or even watching TV, satellites play an important part in our daily lives. But did you know how big of a role the military plays (and has always played) in securing our skies? Satellites are critical to the support and defense of our country, especially for military forces. By operating around the globe, they provide the best vantage point to provide everything from global communications, to sensors on orbit, to ship monitoring, and even weather and oceanographic conditions. But what happens when you need to work on a crucial machine like a satellite when you can't get close to it in space? With space robotics, of course.
