Sea Creatures Take Over Sunken WWII Submarine
A mini-sub sitting on the ocean floor has been taken over by sea creatures. This Japanese mini-submarine has been resting on the ocean floor for decades, five miles off the entrance to Pearl Harbor. The sub was sunk by the Navy destroyer USS Ward on the morning of December 7, 1941, 90 minutes before Pearl Harbor was bombed by air. The sinking of the sub marked the first U.S. shots fired and the country’s entry into World War II in the Pacific.
