Iraqi Soldiers Being Pulled Out of Ramadi

Iraq's Ministry of Defence has released aerial footage of more than 20 soldiers being pulled out of Ramadi after the city fell to Islamic State militants over the weekend. About 25,000 people fled the capital of the Sunni-majority Anbar province as the militants moved in, the UN said, and in the chaos groups of fighters were left stranded. The video shows 28 members of the Rapid Reaction Force being picked up by helicopters. Meanwhile, Iranian-backed Shia militias, along with the Iraqi army, are approaching Ramadi to prepare for a counter-attack against IS. Anbar police chief Kadhim al-Fahdawi said a large number of troops were in Husaybah, about five miles east of Ramadi.
