French Elite Mountain Infantry vs. Taliban

French Chasseurs Alpins fight the Taliban in Afghanistan. The French 27th Mountain Infantry Brigade fighting in Alasay in March 2009. The TaskForce Tiger was composed of troops from the 27th Chasseurs Alpins Battalion, the 93rd Mountain Artillery Regiment, the 2nd Foreign Engineer Regiment, the 4th Chasseurs Regiment and the 28th Signals Regiment. The Chasseurs Alpins (English: Alpine Hunters) are the élite mountain infantry of the French Army. They are trained to operate in mountainous terrain and in urban warfare.
