At least 20 people have been killed across Afghanistan during widespread demonstrations against the desecration of the Holy Qur'an at a US military base, Press TV reports. On Thursday, seven Afghan protesters were killed on the third day of anti-American demonstrations in the Asian country over the burning of copies of Holy Qur'an and other Islamic reading materials at the US-run Bagram airbase, some 11 kilometers (7 miles) southeast of the city of Charikar in Afghanistan's Parwan province. Thousands of demonstrators surrounded the headquarters of a military-civilian Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRT) in Mihtarlam, the capital of Laghman province, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) east of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Thursday.
