Former Marine Shoots 3 Baton Rouge Officers

    BATON ROUGE, La. -- Three Baton Rouge law enforcement officers investigating a report of a man with an assault rifle were killed Sunday, less than two weeks after a black man was fatally shot by police here in a confrontation that sparked nightly protests that reverberated nationwide. The shooter was identified as Gavin Long of Kansas City, a former Marine who spent time in Iraq and was discharged at the rank of sergeant in 2010, CNN reported, citing police and U.S. military sources.
