Brooklyn Police Shoot Man who Stabbed Student

December 9, 2014 -- NYPD officers shot a man who stormed a Brooklyn synagogue early Tuesday morning and stabbed a student in the head. Calvin Peters, 49, was gunned down by anti-terror police around 1:45 a.m. just after he stabbed 22-year-old Levi Rosenviat in the left side of the head. Peters was pronounced dead 90 minutes later, Rosenviat is in stable condition at a local hospital. Peters first entered the synagogue asking for a Bible, witnesses told the New York Post. He then walked outside, came back in and stabbed Rosenviat. "I want to kill the Jew!" Peters shouted, according to police. The crazed man initially complied with police requests to drop the nine-inch knife, according to the WABC.
