More Heroes Return from Deployment

As members of the Illinois National Guard's 1644th Transportation Company made their way this afternoon into the main gymnasium of the Rock Falls Armory, the crowd burst into applause. It was a fitting response for the unit, nicknamed Rolling Thunder. The company left July 4 for a 12-month deployment; it was stationed in Kuwait and performed transportation missions in Iraq. After a brief welcoming ceremony, the men and women were officially released to their families. Among the returning soldiers was Kyle Hacker, who had surprised his daughter at school with a visit in December.
