After mishandling an incident last week at a NYC taping for Jessica Simpson's PBS Christmas special, the showbiz folks taking care of Army veteran music group 4Troops might want to rethink their strategy.
Apparently, our friend Jessica didn't like the group's stage attire and cut them from the show. Disrespectful, sure, but it's the kind of thing that happens when you start dealing with the show people.
Unhappy with this treatment, someone from the 4Troops camp decided to plant an item with the New York Post Page Six gossip column in hopes of embarrassing the Simpson camp.
Free advice for 4Troops: the gossip press really are like actual sharks, the kind that swim in the ocean and eat things. Go about your business in your usual way and they won't even notice you're there. Once you put some blood in the water, they will eat you alive in about two weeks.
Placing an item on Page Six is like calling up the guy at TMZ and suggesting he snoop into your personal life or have his roving cameramen show up at your next LA appearance with a lot of uncomfortable questions about DADT.
Do yourselves a favor: pursue your career, make your fans happy and remind everyone back home about the men and women serving our country around the world. Do not pick a fight with Jessica Simpson and get yourself on the Perez Hilton radar. It won't end well.
