All Good Things Must Come To An End

| By Kate Horrell

It is with a strange combination of relief and sadness that I announce that today is my last day writing here at The Paycheck Chronicles. It's been 10 years since I started here at Military.com, contributing at SpouseBuzz, and 9 1/2 years since we started The Paycheck Chronicles.

In that time, I've written something like 2,400 articles, cropped a ton of photos, and answered a jillion emails. I've made some of my best friends through my writing at SpouseBuzz and The Paycheck Chronicles. I've also written five articles a week for almost every single week of those 9 1/2 years. I've written from all over, including while the rest of my family was on vacation in cool places like Paris, Amsterdam, and Venice.  I'm tired, and it's time for someone else to have all the fun.

I've been assured that The Paycheck Chronicles will continue to exist, though there may be a less aggressive posting schedule. I have confidence that everyone will benefit from some fresh voices and perspectives.

I'm not hanging up my personal finance hat completely. I'll still be spending way too much time on Facebook: you can follow me (and send messages) at my personal Facebook page and join the Military Money Questions and Answers Facebook group. I also occasionally dabble in Pinterest and Twitter. Come visit with me at those places, and we'll see what kind of mischief I get up to next!

Thank you to Military.com for the idea and the freedom to build The Paycheck Chronicles into what it is today, and to Amy Bushatz for dealing my million crazy questions and story ideas. But mostly, thank you readers: Thank you for your comments, your questions, your personal experiences, and your kindness when I've made a mistake. It's been my pleasure to help you navigate the world of military pay and benefits.

Until we meet again,

Kate
