15 July 2014 Military Pay

The next regular, active duty military payday is Tuesday, 15 July 2014.  Tuesday paydays are always confusing - last payday even I was shocked when I saw that my husband's pay was pending on the Friday prior to payday, but then I turned on my brain and remembered how this all falls out for Tuesday paydays.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) pay deposits are the trickiest for Tuesdays, especially if you have an Active Duty checking account.   Members who use Active Duty checking accounts will see their pay pending on Friday, 11 July 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Saturday, 12 July 2014.  This is because the Navy Federal system is not set up to have transactions post on Sunday night.  In order to have the pay in the account by Monday morning, it has to happen on Friday night.

Members who use any of NFCU’s other checking accounts will see their pay pending on Monday, 14 July 2014, to be posted overnight and available for use on Tuesday, 15 July 2014.

One Business Day Early

One business day early is pretty easy when you’re dealing with a Tuesday.  This includes  USAA and Pacific Marine Credit Union.   Customers who use banks who post deposits one business day early will see their pay posted sometime on Monday, 14 July 2014.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union posts active duty military pay “up to two business days” prior to the actual payday.     Service Credit Union customers have previously had Saturday deposits for Tuesday paydays, but that does not guarantee it will happen for this payday.  Unfortunately, you'll just have to wait and know that you will be paid by Tuesday, 15 July 2014.

There is no set time for pay to be deposited.  Even if your bank has a time that it often makes deposits, we're talking about literally thousands of transactions and all sorts of things can happen.  See  What Time Will I Get Paid?  for more information.

If the expected pay day has passed completely, check out  Why Hasn’t My Pay Been Deposited? for more information about the steps to track down the issue.
