I came across this one page advice article at USAA today, and it is pretty good. Titled Where to Go - and Not Go - When You Need Money, it talks about the good, iffy and bad places to look to improve your bottom line. One thing I don't like about this article is that it seems to lump together lifestyle changes, like cutting back on lunches out, with cash infusions, like selling stuff or getting a loan. However, it is right on target with its list of places NOT to look for money: payday loans, cash advances on credit cards, and cashing out your IRA. Definitely worth the read.
