The Disney Channel said it would edit out an apparent joke about eating disorders that had angered teen actress Demi Lovato, who had been treated for bulimia.
Lovato lambasted Disney via Twitter last week after a recent episode of "Shake it Up" included a line from a character that said, "I could just eat you up -- if I ate."
Disney said in a written statement that the episode had been pulled along with an episode of "So Random" that included a similar crack, People said.
"It's never our intention to make light of eating disorders," the statement said.
Entertainment Weekly said Lovato, 19, had tweeted that it was odd that "a company can lose one of their actress's from the pressures of an eating disorder and yet still make joke about that very disease."
She also bemoaned what she saw as the continual "thinning" of the actresses on the Disney Channel.
Us Magazine said Lovato's statement was not made in a vacuum. She has more than 5 million followers on the social media network.
