PANAMA CITY BEACH -- The Spring Break crowd was eager to show off their best dance moves for actress Katrina Bowden on Thursday afternoon.
The "30 Rock" star and Maxim magazine cover model visited Panama City Beach to promote her work, the magazine and the new "Just Dance 3" game for the Nintendo Wii system. She judged dance-offs on a beachside stage in the afternoon sun behind Boardwalk Beach Resort and later at Hammerhead Fred's foam party.
"I just started playing it, and I love it," said Bowden, 23, referring to the game. "I was playing it in my hotel room all night."
Bowden portrays "Cerie" on NBC's "30 Rock." She has several projects in the pipeline, including "American Reunion," another in the "American Pie" franchise, due out April 6.
Before the dance-off started, Bowden joined the Just Dance dancers in a small cabana to practice the game's moves. She said later that dancing with the other women was "a blast."
"They are all really good (dancers) and they are all really sweet," she said. "They want to help you look good when you're out there."
As music boomed from the main stage, Bowden discussed her work and how she was pleased with the response to her turn as Maxim's February cover model.
"I was so excited to be on the cover, and so honored," she said. "I love how the shoot came out. ... All my fans loved it."
When Bowden took the stage, an emcee asked her how she was enjoying her visit to Panama City Beach.
"It is crowded!" she said, adding, "It's beautiful and so fun."
