Actor Tom Hardy is scheduled to make an appearance at a special military screening of the movie "Venom" on Thursday at the Cameo Art House Theatre in downtown Fayetteville, according to the USO of North Carolina.
Tickets for the screening are first-come, first serve and must be picked up at the USO of North Carolina Fort Bragg Center in the Soldier Support Center, which is open from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The tickets must be picked up by active-duty military personnel or a National Guard or Reserve service member with a valid Department of Defense identification, the USO said on its Facebook page. Spouses cannot pick up the tickets.
The British-born Hardy has starred in movies including "Inception," "Dunkirk" and "Mad Max: Fury Road." He also was in the military-themed HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers."
Hardy plays the title role in "Venom," which is based on a Marvel Comic character who gains superpowers and an alternate identity after coming into contact with an alien form.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and the screening is scheduled to start at 7:30. Nasim Kuenzel of the Cameo said Hardy is expected to do a question-and-answer session.
