Here are several tips if you are transitioning from the Army in the next couple of years: (1) attend a Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) job assistance workshop; (2) start networking with relatives, friends and acquaintances to let them know you will looking for a job; (3) decide what you might want to do and where you might want to live; (4) take advantage of all the services your base education center offers; (5) gather information to accurately complete job applications and to develop an effective resume; (6) gather documents, such as personnel records, training certificates, diplomas, etc.; (7) begin researching companies, salaries and cost of living in particular areas of the country; and (8) develop a positive attitude that includes a determination not to procrastinate.
