Top Air Force officials have called for a "100 percent" review of existing housing conditions, officials said, while the Army is stepping up inspections of base housing and holding town halls for soldiers and families living in more than 87,000 homes on its posts. According to a release, Army Secretary Mark Esper, Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and Sergeant Major of the Army Dan Dailey met with the heads of seven companies this month to discuss how to solve problems, including peeling paint and mold, faulty wiring, rodent and bug infestations and more. Air Force commanders have been ordered to walk through housing and request feedback from airmen about any other housing health and safety issues they've experienced by March 1. Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson also directed the Air Force Inspector General to review the base housing complaints process and the Air Force system for responding to complaints.
