Two deployed soldiers in Kuwait were killed Tuesday in a mishap that reportedly left other troops injured, Military.com has learned.

Capt. Alice Yoo, a spokeswoman for U.S. Army Central Command, confirmed that two soldiers died Tuesday morning local time in an accident in Kuwait. She would not confirm any specifics, but a source told Military.com it was a deadly vehicle accident.

Yoo declined to confirm the unit to which the soldiers belonged or their names, and would not say whether other troops had been injured in the mishap. She said more details would be forthcoming following next-of-kin notification.

But one of the soldiers killed in the crash was Sgt. Holli Bolinski, 37, her husband, Robert Bolinski, confirmed to Military.com.

He said the soldiers involved in the vehicle mishap were assigned to Camp Arifjan, a joint installation in Kuwait, and were attached to the 657th Transportation Detachment, a Reserve unit out of Belleville, Illinois.

Bolinski, he said, was a vehicle escort who participated in near-daily equipment runs to and from the base. It was on one of these runs, he said, that the tragic accident occurred -- what he described as a crash involving another vehicle with a tractor trailer. He could not confirm what kind of vehicle the soldiers were driving. Another soldier continues to fight for his life, he said.

The incident is now under investigation by multiple entities, Yoo said.
