HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE -- Holloman Air Force Base officials released the name of the 21-year-old Airman found dead on the base Oct. 11, according to a HAFB 49th Wing Public Affairs press release.
Airman 1st Class Nathan Wilson-Ross, an F-16 aircraft maintenance specialist assigned to the 54th Fighter Group, was discovered dead around 9:45 a.m. Oct. 11, the release stated.
According to the release, Office of Special Investigations continues their investigation into the unattended death of Airman Wilson-Ross after the man's body was discovered in the base dormitories.
49th Wing Public Affairs Director of Media Relations Arlan Ponder said.no foul play is suspected at this time in Airman Wilson-Ross' death.
Airman Wilson-Ross, 21, of San Angelo, Texas, is survived by his mother and a brother.
"This is a tragic event that reminds us how precious time can be," 54th Fighter Group commander Col. James Keen said. "I encourage members of Team Holloman to reach out and support one another through this tragedy."
Ponder said Wilson-Ross deployed to Holloman from Aviano Air Base, Italy about a year ago.
"We don't have an official photo of Wilson-Ross," he said. "OSI is investigating it. It's not suspicious. They have to rule out that there's no foul play. He's been to the combat zone."
Ponder said the 54th Fighter Group is a tenant unit.
"Even though they're a tenant unit here, they're part of Team Hollman," he said. "The last death on base was a civilian contract employee that died from natural causes."
Details regarding a memorial service for Airman Wilson-Ross will be released as soon as arrangements are made, Ponder said.
