The three-day conference at the U.S. Military Academy begins Thursday and will include remarks Friday by retired Gen. Ann Dunwoody, the first female four-star general in the U.S. military.
More than 500 West Point alumni, Army leaders, cadets, staff, faculty and guests are expected at the Association of Graduates' conference. Participants will review the achievements of West Point's female graduates and explore challenges ahead.
The first women at West Point arrived in 1976.
The academy says that of its 51,087 living graduates, 7 percent are women.
