MOBILE, Ala. -- Four Mobile-based Coast Guardsmen have rescued a man from a burning semitrailer.

Coast Guard officials tell local media that a semitrailer collided Thursday with a disabled vehicle on Interstate 10 in Mobile. The semitrailer rolled onto its side, and the cab caught fire.

A group of Coast Guard marine inspectors witnessed the accident and pulled the unconscious truck driver out of the vehicle.

Authorities say the entire cab became engulfed in flames seconds after the Coast Guardsmen removed the driver to a safe distance.

The unidentified driver was taken to a local hospital. It was not immediately clear what injuries the driver had sustained.
