AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak to about 1,000 Air Force Academy cadets at this year's graduation ceremony.

The cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants as they get their degrees Wednesday at the school outside Colorado Springs.

Biden's topic hasn't been announced. Last year, speakers at all three military academies — including President Barack Obama — urged cadets to root out sexual assault in the services.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel touched on that theme again last week at the U.S. Naval Academy graduation.

Obama will speak to Army cadets at West Point's 2014 commencement, also scheduled for Wednesday.

The Thunderbirds precision flying team is returning for this year's Air Force graduation. The military grounded the planes last year, blaming budget cuts.
