Vet Hit in Face by Police Projectile

A former Marine and Iraq war veteran has been hospitalized after being struck in the head with a police projectile during the Occupy Oakland demonstration Tuesday night. The injury occurred as police attempted to disperse the crowd. Scott Olsen, a member of Veterans for Peace and Iraq Veterans Against the War, has a skull fracture and is unconscious at Highland Hospital in Oakland, according to Keith Shannon, also a former Marine, who served with Olsen in Iraq in 2006-2007.
