The day of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy was truly a sad day for Americans everywhere. As we mourn our losses at home, it's also wonderful to see National Guardsmen paying respects from abroad. It's deplorable to reflect that as our service members travel world-wide to protect American citizens from harm, there could be a horrible tragedy such as this perpetrated from within. This ceremony is a reflection of the unified spirit of a people who stand together in time of crisis. Tommie Horton Public Affairs Robins AFB, Ga.

Appropriate. Good Guys with guns, commemorating lives taken by a 'bad guy' with a gun. The Sandy Hook shooter was just wannabe military.
