Rifle Training for Afghan Police
During their final block of instruction of Basic Rifle Marksmanship, held by their American advisors, the Afghanistan Uniformed Police in the Qalat district put what they learned to practice while firing on the range. With an influx of new police in the area, the Security Force Assistance Team 22 began training the policeman on BRM from early December to February for the Afghans who had little knowledge of weapons. The Qalat district AUP is comprised of about 150 policeman, many of which have never fired their own weapons. BRM became a top priority for SFAT 22 after visiting the police checkpoints in Qalat. Soundbites include Staff Sgt. Roger Smith and Sgt. 1st Class Ryan Taniguchi. Unit: Security Force Assistance Team 22, 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 41st Field Artillery, Security Force for SFAT 22, Unit Hometown: Kapolei, HI and Fort Stewart, GA. Produced by Spc.
