Dust Off Platoon Transports Medics

    The Oklahoma National Guard's Dust Off Platoon is responsible for getting medics into the most dangerous situations to extract injured personnel in Afghanistan. U.S. Air Force Maj. Sandra Nestor is a tactical critical care evacuation team member attached to the 3rd Platoon, C company, 2-149 General Support Aviation Battalion Medevac at Forward Operating Base Orgun East, Paktika province, Afghanistan. Medevac teams specialize in moving and treating U.S. and coalition forces that are injured and risk dying without immediate emergency care. C Company is a joint unit between Oklahoma and Texas National Guard. C Company deployed in September of 2012 and is scheduled to come home this August. Nestor has since re-deployed and is back at Langley AFB, VA.
