101st Airborne Ambushed by Taliban
"I shot this video during "Operation Dragon Strike" (Zhari District, Kandahar, Afghanistan) in the summer of 2010. The Soldiers are from the 101st Airborne Division, the "Black Hearts". We were ambushed in a dried up canal, Taliban guns fired on us from about 30 feet away. The fight was going on for about 25 seconds before I could get the camera up and running. Some how we all made it out uninjured, I believe I was the only on with minor bullet fragment wounds on my right arm and a small piece in the neck."

where's part 2? it needs a part 2. I freaking loved it. So intense and I'm not even there. CHEAHHH
Not knowing the enemy force size, this may be mute. As a 2-506, 101 Abn member from 66-68, I recall this happening in Vietnam. Whatever happened to fire and maneuver to take out the ambushing party ?
nothing like the army retreating...
my grandpa and i watched this he served 2 tours in Vietnam and said they were know as the "screaming chickens".
Its them who choose the ground, flanked on both sides by high ground is a no no. Its the fog of battle, its easy to say sitting here. I want to be there. 3-2 heaven..
In Vietnam they were called "Chicken Men" coz the VC, NVA never saw an EAGLE. I was told a unit ate chicken for a month after giving these guys the bizness. That Eagle means everything.
It's hard to maneuver on the Taliban, it worked against the Germans. But the Muja, play by their own rules. Their 3 x lighter than us. Terrain is the enemy in that country. That scout platoon, ended up in a 3-way ambush. Hard to maneuver on that. Lol
