It is obvious the Gestapo has been let on the American People. She can sue them and with this video she should prevail quite well.

This is all staged to look very innocent on the part of the protestor. But why the video if they didn't invite and expect trouble? The police have a duty to keep order even during a protest and apparently after several ignored requests to move they felt it was best to remove her from the area. She could have stepped out on the sidewalk and sat on the bench to avoid the whole incident but her and the video man wanted this confrontation...so I don't feel sorry when they get it.

If you are told to move by authorities then what's the big deal about moving, seems like a very east thing to do....vet or not, which I happen to be a 20 yr plus type.

This woman is a veteran, Someone who understands authority. The entire scene was obviously staged and designed to get the viewers upset. Sorry, Emily, you failed. You should simply have stepped aside then asked for an explanation. You forced the police to arrest you, pretended to be abused and now expect the public to side with you? Not this time.

We no longer live in a society where the police, be they local state or federal are gods. Being arrested for asking the police why? I believe every officer involved and their boss should be fired. We the people own that land, We the people pay their salaries, We the people have rights! WE THE PEOPLE are tired of police exceeding and abusing the authority granted them. I spent 15 years active duty and worked 20 years civil service law enforcement and never found the need to be that brutal with anyone, even when they assaulted me. Emily should get a good lawyer.

I don't understand people who won't listen and comply with a simple request. What was sooooo special about that tree? This was nothing short of another attempt by a Liberal to make the police look like bad guys. The attempt failed and she looks like a loser for her efforts at acting.

IMO this encounter was staged. All that you are seeing is what the camera guy wants you to see. "We have you on camera." I don't care that she CLAIMS to be a vet.

I don't think these people have any idea of what a real "Police State" is. The only level headed people that I see in this video are the Officers making the arrest.

The police were abusive and exceeded the level of force necessary to affect an arrest and handcuff a non-combative citizen. There are far less confrontational ways to do so. The did not give the lady an opportunity to explain herself, nor inform her of an offense for which she was being arrested. She was not given any notice of why or how her conduct was breaking the law. The police gave no justification for requiring her to move. Their actions appeared to be an abuse of power.

The park police were totally wrong. I did not serve 13 years in the Army to support this type of Nazi behavior. I hope she sues and wins and the officers involved lose their jobs. They should know better and no I don't support the idiots who say she should have left. She did not break the law. If I am at a park by myself or with one or two friends just talking I don't expect to be told to move on.

I've watched the video and read the comments. I tend to agree that it was a set up, but strangely, the gestapo fall for it all the time. Assuming it was a set up (which, by the way, is not illegal), when she asked why she had to move, why didn't the gestapo simply answer the question — and give her a reason. But the question, whatever it may be, is never answered with intelligence and reason. The answer is always assault. Did we hear them read her her rights? The point here is that we do live in a police state where police cannot be questioned as to their behavior. It is always met with violence. What charges will they bring against her? Set up or not, the usual response is that you will be assaulted if you dare question police behavior. They are hard-wired that way.

    bobohack1 Sep 06, 2013

this is a very big over-reaction to a minor problem. an answer would have been the appropriate response followed by another request to move on. Mr. NoHat jumped to pain compliance with very little provocation and she was treated like an animal. I was a prison guard for 25 years and this response was only used in extreme instances; which this was not. I would also like to know what law it was that she supposedly broke for standing on public property?

If your asked to leave an area you do it. end of story. But this was a anti-war protest I imagine just like the ones when Vietnam was going on. You can tell from the fool running the camera having his peace band with the symbol on it. So this was probably staged to look like something going on. Just another way for the libbers to lie again.

I don't understand why these law enforcement people told her to move...didn't seem to be much of a reason other than, what, a power trip, maybe? It ended up being rather brutal, and if I were she I'd sue the hell out of them individually and as a department. Are we really devolving into a police state? Starting to look like it. That as criminal of the police in the way they: 1) pushed her arm back in a manner that was deliberately intended to cause great pain and potentially dislocate her shoulder from the socket. 2) carrying her off via her arms in a manner that was extremely painful to her shoulders and again putting her at risk to have her shoulders both dislocated. This type of tactic was used in torturing heretics during the Spanish Inquisition when they strung people up from behind using their arms as the leverage.

    PAXPERPOTENS Sep 06, 2013

You can see in the video she is clearly behind a barrier. Read up on this. The were having a rally in a park without a citation and the city allowed it to go ahead but provided an area for law enforcement to organize should they be needed which was off limits... She intentionally stood in that area to provoke an arrest.

Let me get this straight, your stating your a veteran of our great nation & exercising what right you have to stand on federal property to voice your opinion & refuse to move when ordered by the federal police officers & have your moronic friend film this! First as a veteran and retiree. I served in the USAF, US ARMY and USMC and have to say this is exactly why I retired. Turn back time were fidelity, honor & respect for our nation actually meant everything to everyone who served. Now a days this means very little to most. This is obviously staged & by the comments in the video & the ones you have posted you are out to make money against the people of our great nation because you want to make an idiotic point & disregard everything that we stand for!! I THINK NOT! Why should the people of this nation have to pay you one damn some for being an idiot!! I am about to retire again as a Sheriff's deputy myself & if I told you leave the area there would not be a second time & you would have been thrown in jail. No time for a staged video & your friend would have been give one chance as well or he would be sitting next to you in the backseat. These officers had great restraint!!

  28. DeputyDawg87
    DeputyDawg87 Sep 06, 2013

Dealing with you! You want to act like an idiot you get treated like an idiot! Your lucky you weren't charged with resisting! When your ordered to place your hand behind yor backs and you want to resist and it takes three officers to place you in handcuffs, plain and simple you resisted! Again these officers acted appropriately and the video is going to convict you, not help you! Lastly, trying to edit this video to show what little you think will help you, WON'T! There is obviously a lot more to this you don't want to show, but it really sues my matter, point is you trespassed by ignoring a simple command to leave, of you would have acted like a soldier and mature person this would not have happened!! So good luck trying to STEAL OUR MONEY FROM OUR GREAT NATION!! Only thing you will get to spend, is TIME!!

Why couldn't they just take her by arm and escort her from the area if they wanted her to leave? I would like to see the minutes leading up to that clip.

    31216225 Sep 07, 2013

It is hard to say who is in the wrong without the events leading up to this but I know it takes me a while to get out my phone and get the camera opened so there may be a lot he missed filming or it could be that part was intentionally left out? If she was asked to leave maybe she should have but I would think it would not have been an imposition to tell her why.

  33. 31217816
    31217816 Sep 07, 2013

We don't know the whole story here, but as far as the Cops man handling her, she was resisting. You pull away from the cops while they are handcuffing you, you are resisting. You do not have the right to fight the police or pull away from them. If you feel you are being arrested for no reason, take it up in court. They would have been cleared to taser her if they wanted. The time to argue with an arrest is during court. I'm tired of the general public thinking that pulling away from an officer while making an arrest is ok to do. -- Now, like I said, we don't know the whole story for the reason of arrest. Maybe she was just sitting in the shade. Maybe she wasn't. The video doesn't show. Maybe she had been causing problems before the tape started rolling. She was causing them after it started rolling by pulling away. That is all I can comment on in this video.

I am disgusted that our nations police officers are so anti-americans. Most cops I know today grew up being the school bullies, always picking on ther underpriveledged and anyone else who disagreed with them. these are now the same pigs who try to hurt anyone who breaths unless they tell them to. The officers who arte caught on tape being bullies should go to a max security prison and be known to the general population as the pigs they are. I would love to see most of todays police force fired and loose any benifits. American Gustapo and SS were never as bad as this naions law inforcement officers, from top to bottom.

Really? When you're fighting an arrest you're likely to get hurt. The time to argue the arrest is in court, not on the street like a common thug. Obviously she was causing an issue before the filming started (or more likely it was edited out, as per usual) due to the number of officers' attention she had gotten to that point. My guess is she couldn't be there because there was a planned protest march which she was a part of. One of the rules is typically that a march means you are moving with a group. Not letting stragglers fall behind while they vandalize government property because the cops all have to follow the group. I hope she was a dishonorably discharged "vet", because I would not want to be labeled the same as her. They used an enormous amount of restraint while dealing with her. Taser, OC, or pain compliance holds would all have been acceptable levels of force to effect the arrest. If you don't like it, change the laws or move out of the U.S. Don't fight the cops on the street.
