National Guard Kills Pedestrian in NYC

A National Guard vehicle hit and killed an 82-year-old man on Canal Street near Centre Street this afternoon, reports the New York Times' J. David Goodman on Twitter. "They were conducting a resupply mission when this unfortunate accident occurred," according to a National Guard spokesperson. "He just ran out in front of the truck," a soldier told Time's Sam Gustin, who has photos from the sad scene. "Nobody looks left or right before crossing the street here."
