About 1,500 paratroopers dropped out of the night sky from an altitude of just 800 feet, bringing with them nearly 190,000 pounds of equipment. They were the first of some 4,000 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division parachuting into an exercise designed in part to prepare for the worst in Syria. After seizing an airfield in the woods of North Carolina, they launched a helicopter assault on a compound where, for purposes of this exercise, chemical agents were believed to be stored. Their mission: get to the chemicals before they fall into the hands of terrorists who would use them against Americans.

Going into Syria will be a nightmare, as an arm plunging into a hornet's nest. Contrary to what the chairman of the JCS stated, I think the day will come when U.S. air and ground forces go in.

Yeah, we need another war in the Middle east. We can't afford the ones we are in now. This will be President Obama's WAR and no others. Can't blame this stupid move on Bush. Can't blame Bush for Egypt, Libya, Africa either. This war in Syria will be the key to all out war in the Middle East. I hope we are prepared to erradicate the Muslim world cause if we aren't, then we say goodbye to the world. Iran and the rest of the crazies will be in on this in a flash.

The key to all out war in the middle east is westrn affairs involved in a part of the world socially still living in 1000 AD. Blame Obama who ever the responsibility falls on the voter. The term is ELECTED officials.

We train all the time for every type of scenarion/possible contingency around the world. If you all knew how many training exercises go on each day around the world you would be posting the same thing every day. You want so despirately for Pres Obama to make the same stupid mistakes dummy bush made so you can say exactly what you are saying now, "it's Obama's war". You are finally admitting that all of the crap we are in now is because of dummy bush.

Y Munitions Found in Iraq Meet WMD Criteria, Official Says Ya just can't believe the press commenting abut something they know nothing about... By Samantha L. Quigley American Forces Press Service WASHINGTON, June 29, 2006 – The 500 munitions discovered throughout Iraq since 2003 and discussed in a National Ground Intelligence Center report meet the criteria of weapons of mass destruction, the center's commander said here today. "These are chemical weapons as defined under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and yes ... they do constitute weapons of mass destruction," Army Col. John Chu told the House Armed Services Committee. The Chemical Weapons Convention is an arms control agreement which outlaws the production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons. It was signed in 1993 and entered into force in 1997. The munitions found contain sarin and mustard gases, Army Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, said. Sarin attacks the neurological system and is potentially lethal.
