300 Miramar-based Marines Return Home

    MIRAMAR (CNS) - Roughly 300 Miramar-based Marines returned home from deployment Wednesday, marking the local Marine Corps air station's largest single homecoming event of the year. The Marines, who are assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, returned from a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, according to Miramar's public affairs office. The Marines, who had been deployed for six months or longer, were flown in around 2:30 p.m., Cpl. Steven Posy said. They were greeted by family and friends at the air station's passenger terminal.
