I would have called it,"Never Send an LT To DO An NCO's job." But then the NCO's would have nothing to rib him about back at the motor pool.

That Sgt was lucky cause in 1978 at Ft. Riley a M-60 got stuck try to cross a small creek with the far side kind of have a small hill. They had to call out my Eng company to help dig it out. They even had M-88 two of them to try and pull it out, it took a little bit of work but we got it out.

About as funny as getting a black eye. I hope the walk for the two with the camera was 50 km with full packs.

Well this butter bar went fro E-1 to E-6 then got my commission. And as a result few other officers got along with me because I could get the troops to work more than twice as hard. I knew what it was like wearing the boots of the enlisted troops.

That was fun. I wonder where and what unit this was. I'm glad they didn't roll the tank. Problem is I've seen officers do worse.

Lieutenants usually do not like nor trust the NCO's, especially the senior NCO's because in most cases, the NCO's are smarter and wiser, militarily speaking, than most Lieutenants. Smarter Lieutenants listen to the advice and recommendations of the senior NCO's because they have been there and done that whereas the Lieutenants are just learning.
