Libyan state television broadcast images of what appeared to be the wreckage of an aircraft on Tuesday. It quoted an unnamed Libyan military official saying a NATO Apache attack helicopter was downed in Zlitan, about 85 miles east of the capital Tripoli. Soldiers and media surrounded the broken parts and instruments, and people were seen scribbling on parts of the wreckage. NATO denied reports that an attack helicopter had gone down and said that one of its unmanned drones has disappeared over Libya. A NATO spokesman said the alliance lost radar contact with an unmanned helicopter drone on Tuesday morning and is looking into the incident.
