God bless this 15 driver and his MIB.
I remember this when I was on active duty. A quick decision by a brave man.
I punched-out of a F-4 (70'Vietnam) in bandit country after taking a SA-2 up the turkey feathers,at approx. 300 Knots. Broke both legs, I can't imagine leaving at over twice that. I lost my back-seater as well.
Althought it is wonderful that this aviator survived such a high speed ejection, his total lack of SA is what put him in this situation. Oh, by the way his WSLO died.
to 27916295: Did an accident investigation attribute this event to pilot error? The clip didn't go into detail on that, you must be aware of additional information to say such a thing.
God Bless America, and all who serve this nation with such spirit.
Goes to show that ejection from jet aircraft guarantees only that. Survival is another matter. God Bless him anyway, and may his backseater rest in peace.
I read Psalms 61:1-2 this morning and then found this video later on. I thought it was right on this situation. I will write it down in case someone does not have a Bible. Psalms 61:1-2 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
I ponder what the purpose of the drill was. God Bless them both and our country is always worth fighting for but as a Viet Vet they'll have to be landing on our shores next time. Thanks to all of you that served and welcome home
F-15 Ejection at Supersonic Speed;there must be a ejection handel of the navigator to be in controal of the pilot just in case...,
i cant imagine the pain, especially at that speed, of ejecting
A major contributor to the severity of this accident: forgetting to pull back the throttles or doing anything else to try to slow down. He channelized his attention on troubleshooting his flight controls.
